GmAz Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 I havemy system overclocked obviously, but now that I am running an 9800 Pro with 8x AGP, does my AGP Bus still have to be locked at 66Mhz or does it go higher?
Mist Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 it stays at 66mhz no matter what times ur runnin. Example my 9600 pro was 8x still ran at 66 busted it and put in the old mx at 2x and still 66 mhz.

AYoKoNA Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 (edited) The bandwith is in relative to the 66mhz. If you are running 4x agp then the 4 is basically the multiplier. 8x agp 8 would be the multi by 66mhz. Edit: kinda like the multiplier on the bus speed. Are you sure that's right? <_< because changing the fsb jumper setting on my mobo, the AGP can be set @ 56-83mhz, okay it's onlt a SS7, but surely by now they've improved on technology some more. Â Looks like a question for bigred
Mist Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 my mobo allows over 133 but ive only hit 80 stable so i dont see the point. It is easier just to use omega drivers to oc the vid card.
Will Smith Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 stock is 66mhz. If you feel daring go ahead and try to up it. watch out though cause some pci devices are sensitive to stuff like that.
Guest FxXP Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 I pushed the AGP from 66 to 83 on my system and didn't notice any performance boost. I only have a 4x card though.
GTSticky Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 There's no great reason to overclock the AGP bus when you can overclock the processor, RAM and video card to greater effect.
FanATIc205 Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 and radeons dont like increased agp speeds i think they start ot act up past 68mhz if your even lucky to get ti that fast and no mater the x agp speeds its always 66mhz
