There is nothing wrong with the Hyper PSU and when Happy Gamer has the time I believe he has one there in waiting ready to test, unless I dreampt that one! :D

Dude the Hiper R PSU aren't that great either.... go OCZ, FSP Fortron Source, Silverstone, PC Powor & Cooling, Enermax, Seasonic, Antec, Cooler Master.... if your buying a PSU not named here forget about it!

 You need to read the rules and follow them!

hmm i just buy a hiper 580w modulair and i have read good reviews about it!

I hope u are wrong!

Tommorow i want to go a bit oc and then i will see it myself!

You be ok with it M8 its very good value, yes there are better but the Hiper will do the job!

Yes ! change your psu, go for whats on the recommended list of PSU, I had the same problem with my hyper - not enough juice to the cpu, it kept on freezing, that makes me weary of all modular psu's including enermax's.

I have 2 questions for you.

1) What slots are your memory sticks are in?

2) What are the power requirements for your video card?

The reason I'm asking is if the PSU has enough power to feed the video card, then the only other problem I can think of is the RAM is in the wrong slots, or the timings of the RAM is off.

well if the ram timings is off

i've already cleared the cmos, dat should reset to default settings right?

the ram is on the orange slot, since they where pre-overclocked by the previous owner, same with the cpu

shall i switch em over to yellow ram slots?

hiper type r should be enough to power a 8800 gts oc right?

many people r using them in the uk?

Let me research this. I'll get back to you.

Ok. The video card requires 26A from a 12V rail. Your PSU has dual rails. One supplies 20A, the other supplies 18A. I'm not sure if this is enough amps to power your card. I will have to ask one of the PSU experts here on the forum. But I do believe that the video card is underpowered. That would explain why you have a black screen. If this is the case, the solution here is to get a beefier PSU.
