PC3200 or PC4000 better for overclocking?

Hi, I would like to know which type of ram is better for overclocking on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D? PC3200 or PC4000 and are PC4000 rams compatible with DFI boards? Any recommendations if i want to overclock an Opteron 165 to 2.4 GHz? I not on a budget so I could afford some good quality rams. Thanks!

well if you want 1:1 go for the pc4000, if you don't mind runnin a divider just go for some low latency pc3200

I'm guessing you're talking about 1GB sticks?

 

PC4000 is gauranteed to run at DDR500, and well, PC3200 isn't.

Yeah I'm talking about 1GB sticks. Is it better to go 1:1? Are there any advantage going PC4000 instead of PC3200?

With PC3200 you don't know how well it will clock. It could overclock to 270Mhz or 201MHz. The advantage of PC3200 is that in most cases it's cheaper.

 

With PC4000 it will run at 250MHz gauranteed. Downside is it tends to be a little bit more expensive.

You'll prolly get tighter timings if you run PC3200 with a divider.

Any good recommendations on PC4000 rams? I only want to overclock to 2.4GHz, so are 3-4-3-8 latency rams good enough or I have to get 3-3-2-8 latency rams?
