Floppy Drive Compatability Issues??

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I've got a LanParty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert that seems to be real picky about what floppy it wants to work with.

I tried 2 different floppies that have a card reader built into them and they will not read/write to a floppy.

These are the ones that I've tried.

Koutech - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813998514

But an old ALPS floppy made for an IBM PC works just great?

Anybody know of a floppy w/card reader that will work with the Expert?

I have the top one in my system and loving it. The only problem I had was finding a power connection for it. Found I local business that still had the old floppy power plug. What can be so different with the "expert" that it would not read it? Was it showing up in the system? My was showing but would not work until I got power to it.

I've got power to it.

Same connector powered the floppy that worked.

The little mini-molex. My psu has several of them.

The second one is actually a notebook drive w/adapter - that could have something to do with it.

Confusing.
