Actually if you really saw the debate. Tom McClintock won the debate, every single commentator knew that and said that after the debate. If Tom was ahead in the polls I would vote for him but hes not :( , and Im not letting Leftist Hippie Bustamante win. Arnold held his own for not having experience like the rest of the politicians did there (20+ years experience for tom, and a little less from others there)

well i basically saw the clips of the stupid comments huffington would make directed right at arnold, and like you said, he stood his own and she looked like an idiot. I saw they ran a poll in cali after the debate and arnold had like 31% to lead the 5 of them. The general opinion of the debate (hearsay) was that basically everyone held their own, and nobody looked like THE ONE, and nobody looked utterly stupid, so people thought that played best for arnold's sake...that that's exactly what he needed.

Well, I do agree that the commentators said that Arnold won the debate although I REALLY don't agree. Having watched it, he came across as a newbie to politics who didn't have a grasp of the political system he's entering into and knew nothing of the statistics that both McLintock and Bustamante had so readily available to them. The fact that the debate was scripted only made Arnold look worse to me. Having the questions in advance he should have been more prepared to talk on actual policies and plans for the state of California rather than the vagueries he expounded throughout the debate...and that was when he was entering into a needlessly stupid tug-of-war of insults with Huffington. It became clear quickly that Arnold did not have the poise and, I hesitate to say intelligence so let's just say the grasp of the political situation, to enter into real debate with McLintock or Bustamante. Rather, he brought himself down to the level of Huffington and simply tried to match insults with her. When she accused him of talking over her and saying that's how he treats all women, he should have brushed her off and responded that he would not even dignify that with an answer. Instead, he chose to further lower the level of the debate, perhaps for entertainment purposes, and shout back a ridiculous retort about a part for her in T4. All in all, I thought he did a horrendous job and only proved to me that while he may really care about California he doesn't have the know how actually run it. My vote is for a real debate between McLintock and Bustamante.
