xpentor Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I think I have put the SATA in to the right port of SATA3 for overclocking. The problem im facing right now is to get this beast to clock higher than 270Mhz HTT.. I've tried bumping the chipset 0.1v at a time up to 1.9v.. no luck. Its pretty strange to see my CPU runs well under multi 9x n HTT 270(2430Mhz) and 8x HTT 270(2160mhz). But everything above 270 in all CPU Multipliers, it just doesnt want to work. It can boot, but stuck at a screen stating " Detecting Arrays" although i dont use any array configuration. My memory has been set to 2.5-4-4-8 and 2/3 divider to avoid bottlenecking HTT overclocking. Any ideas or tips to troubleshoot this? thx alot for the help! xpentor Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Tried reducing the LDT to 2x ... still no hope.. *BUMP*
THunDA Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Leave the htt multi on 2.5.. You might want to try loosening and playing with the max async and preamble timings .. They dont just effect memory speeds they also have a impact on the htt speeds .. edit.. Keep in mind that loosening timings 'too much' will also make things unstable.. Its best to play around and try alot of different combos.. Its a long tedious process but thats overclocking..
xpentor Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 OKay thanx! i'll try and report!
xpentor Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 you are right.. have my Async changed from 7ns to 9ns, it makes a difference. my HTT goes up to 290x90 for 2610Mhz.. 200mhz speed bump under 1.65v. Haven't tried to bump the vcore to 1.7v, the most stable under 1.65v is 1610mhz. Issit safe to bump the vcore up to 1.7v? Thanx again m8! xpentor Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 SOrry for the late reply, Im having, AMD Athlon64 2800+ Clawhammer SH7-CG 1.5V default.
THunDA Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 Well since its a clawhammer it will take a little more voltage.. I have a mobile clawhammer that I used to run 1.72v 247 with high end air cooling.. I run it totally stock as my backup rig now and its still running great .. What cooling are you using ? and what are your temps at load ? xpentor Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I;m using my friend's stock Opteron heatpipe heatsink with AMD K7 Jet 7 Fan 3600rpm. i cant get the stock Jet 7 pure copper heatsink fit into socket 754. My ITE Smart Guardian shows my current idle as 36C load is about 48-50C, PWM IC idle 38C load 44-46C, System idle:30C load:33C , But at this setting i always get a lockup when playing online games such as NFS most wanted. dunno why..
