Gigashadow Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 Uhm, if you could get your comp case and frame powder coated any color you want at a good price, would you do it, and how many of you would do it? I'm just curious.

Transattic Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 the guy in Hardcoreware.com did the Hardcoreware Case with powder coating... its a real fine painting job, and harder than spraypainting....

KaluMinati Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 actually your close andrusk.. powdercoating is useually done for the motor as it is heat resistant ( and like mentioned, harder then spray paint so it can resist a ding or two ) i havent really heard much about cars painted via powder coating ( then again i could be worng ) but ive seen poweder coating done and its a very clean and clear colour
Gigashadow Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 The only reason I'm asking is because I'm buying a powder coat system to do customers cases I've had a few people ask about it. The cases and frames are small enough to fit in a decent size electric oven for the curing. I have an extra electric oven that works. If anyone is interested It will be 65 dollars american per color, no labor charges, free ups return ground shipping. I think that's not a bad deal since the most of the places here in Dallas/Fortworth are charging 70 to 75 dollars per color plus labor. Tell me what you think about that. bigred Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 if I'm not mistaken it's kinda like chrome. it's attached to the case via charged particles. if I'm remembering right (had a bumped powder coated a few years ago) it doesn't scratch real easy. AYoKoNA Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 I have my valve cover powder coated. Usually powder coating costs about $75-$90.

DeMoN Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 where would we be shipping to
Gigashadow Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. You would have to strip it down, by that I mean you would have to take everythign out of it, I would have one of my guys sand blast the frame and case if it's not aluminum. basically I would want only the frame and case if it's steel with nothing in it. I haven't even bought the powder system yet, I'm just curious about how big of a market there is for it. WHen I buy it you all will be the first to know, also were open to powder coating anything that fits in the oven, so it's not just cases we will be doing. Anyway thanks for all your input. and remember free return normal ground shipping.
