Any suggestions on changes. I don't really need to go higher in money, my budget is around $2000. Pretty much starting from scratch as you can see. So where can I improve, and where have I gone overboard and maybe can get a cheaper component. Someone told me to get the 319.00 video card instead of the 369.00 and overclock it, good idea? Oh, last thing, I will be overclocking.
jcll2002 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 instead of 2 74 gig raptors, get 1x 150gb raptor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231021
dab Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I'd think you'd be better served with a new game title than that RAM cooling kit. doens't the mushkin come with heatspreaders on it anyways? Good case airflow should suffice.. Also, your monitor will not do that rig justice. 15"?!?!? Youd be better off with a used 19"crt... or why not look at 17"LCD's they're cheap and look great.. spend your money wisely. You can get more than enough storage for like $100, then get 1 or 2 36GB raptors if you MUST have 10k RPM with RAID array... could get a nice water cooling system, better LCD monitor, who knows... Sivartus Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I will talk it over with the main people that are helping me with this, and see what they think. By the way, and good 200-250gb HDDs you would like to recommend?
Shredman Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 the Western Digital 16mb sata 3gb/s were recommended in the guide here. I just got one and it's fast and quiet...sub $100 at newegg.
Kandoo Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Make sure that case you picked out will be able to give you good air flow? I've never owned a Thermaltake Tsunami so I'm not the one to ask, but I do know it's very important, esp if your going to OC?
Monty312 Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 For memory, i would go with OCZ Gold 2gb DDR500 from outpost for $150 after mir, saves you 50 and they are just as good in my opinion
