After I compared them there is 1 big different: - 520w has a +12V rail @33A - 600w has +12V1 and +12V2 rail @ 20A / 18A I told my hardware local store to order the 520w SLI-Ready, but would like your opinions. If he manage to get it at all as there is no Trace of these psu's in Norway, only ModStream exist but it has only 28A on +12V and out of production. I'm aware, and doubt I will be building SLI as it hurts my bucks hehe. Anyways.... isnt having 2 +12V rails a bad thing? So you're good and besides it's been nearly 2-3 weeks since i've had my setup and i only have 28amps on this OCZ 520 Modstream running this X1900XTX. I hope this helps.... NEOAethyr Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 There must defently be more then one rev. Some had green lights I think, newer ones have blue. The non EU rev's do have active pfc btw. So I don't know what those are about, people said they are the ones with active pfc(OCZ ADJ-SLI EU, or -EU, I forgot), but I have a non EU ver and it has it. Some rev's I heard have louder fans. The new ones don't. The louder fan ver's are way better. I modded mine and it's quite a diffrence in performance and stability . There's 4 headers for fans even though there's only 2 fans, all 4 are super low speed that the fans do nothing pretty much. They are pretty decent fans at full speed though. As for the diffrences in the 520 and 600? I'm not toally sure. The 600 feeds off one big rail, the +12v. Then splits these using some tiny @ss caps and such. Each of these sepereate rails is adjustable but that is locked down by glue and is inside the psu. There's also a 3rd rail but it's not all there, and nothing hooked to it. The 1st and 2nd rails a differ a bit, there's a smd cap on the 2nd. I'm not sure if this is to increase resistance on the output of the cap(keeping it charged longer), or if it's to lower the voltage. Each rail has a diffrent output voltage too, the vr's are setup diffrently. Anyways some info you may be interested in: 2nd rail: 4+4 pin cpu conector, 20+4pin atx conenctor, the sata connectors. 1st rail: everything else. The 520 could be infact that same psu, it's hard to say without one. I do know that the 600 is longer, I dn, I just dn. The 600w is good psu though. The +12v vr is for the main rail before it splits btw. That's about all I can tell you that would be somewhat helpful. Except that you should know it's inportant to keep the psu away from any heat, don't stack it on top of a cpu or anything. The psu gets hot by it's self.
