AthlonAlien Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 I have added the Sil 5.3.14 BIOS to the Expert 4/06BTA BIOS. I am now making reference to the stuff asked in Post #26 and #27. The "order" of the things in BIOS. I didn't know if it mattered because the PCI C was in the middle, then it gets moved to the end. I was gonna release all the ones on the bottom and get PCI C back to it's original spot, then add the lower stuff back. I can release all the stuff except the bottom listing that says "Other...". When I try to remove it, I get some message about a syntax error?! -Thanks

Xak Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Anyone have a link for 704-2BTA with SiI 3114 BIOS v5.3.14 for SLI-DR? Also, anyone have any issues upgrading the BIOS with existing RAID5 volumes (not boot)?
Aeka Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 This bios is working fine on my rig, nfii lpb. I had to redo the drive from scratch though. Windows saw it and did'tn notice a thign worng with it, however vm2 does. Dos does'nt though, in general(I would think, vm2 is in dos). After redoing the entier drive over, vm2 works. I gained -2% less cpu usage over the raid 10 bios'es. I modded the raid 5 drivers to works for this controller too, works ok. The sil 3114 drivers just suck @ss basically, all of them do(Including the raid5 drivers). In reality, this controller is just crap. It's ok to get by with I guess. That's what IU have to do, I will have to deal with the thing. It's slowly getting better on my end, the more I mod it that is. I have no write speed issues really, just read speed issues. Read speed sucks, write speed is fine. Cpu usage, after messing around with the driver(experimenting), is way way to much(4% right now). It can go as high as 12% at 2ghz, that's just stupid...(if the driver is setup diffrently) Oh yeah, it seems as if these controllers work in sataII mode. I forgot what else I was going to say, I have to get...
