My ram wont do official timings

Recommended Posts

According to corsair my ram (PC3200C2 XMS Twinx Matched Pair 1gb) is 2-3-3-6 but I can only run it at 2.5-3-3-6 or else it locks up during bootup. Any ideas why I can't run it to spec?

So it locks up during bootup on default cmos?

My guess is drive strengths, a friend of mine just got an Expert and we spent a few weekends playing to get some twinmos bh-utt stable at 200MHz. All turned out to be drive strengths.

I always hear about people leaving the strengths on auto and getting monster clocks but it never seems to work for me.

Not sure what revision, its kinda hard to visually see they're hiding behind the XP90 heatsink+fan, but cpu-z says cmx512-3200c2 week 255, year 255 serial FFFFFFFF

Angry games is right, best low timings for that RAM will be 2.5-3-2-5, I changed that for a pair of brainpower pcb, samsung uccc corsair value select, now I boot at ddr 500 speed, low voltages and much better bandwidth.
