deeselcyde Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I installed the ram then booted up. Set some timings and voltage. Completely lowered my overclock to below 2.0. Booted to windows, everything worked. Went to bios and set it at 10x250, same mem settings. 3-4-4-8 @ 2.6 1t. turned on and nothing happened. cleared bios. trying backing off my overclock. nothing again. went to complete stock settings. nothing again. cleared bios. loaded optimized resulsts. got to windows logon. logged on and froze. I have no idea whats going on. help would be greatly appreciated. *In my bios it says my Dram 2.5 V Voltage is running at 2.5. That is my dram voltage correct? Well i got and change it to 2.6. and it still goes dead. And when nothing happens, two lights are lit up on the lower left end of the board. Isnt that memory. And i am running in the yellowslots. i have been messing around with just one stick in. and it is working fine from just booting into optimized results, then tweaking from there, but once the other stick is in and system gets restarted. boom, dead. are there any special bios settings that are a must for 1x2gig? CPDMF Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Max Async to 8.0 Read Preamble 5.5 DRAM Drive strength 7 Data drive strength 3 Try the orange slots, most have better luck with them.
deeselcyde Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 haha its funny you say that cuz i just switched over the the orange and its workign. LOL But i will put those settings you gave me in. Thanks a lot CPDMF
deeselcyde Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 ugghh, ok so i moved to orange slots. Everything seemed to be going well. I set my fsb at 225 and multi at 10. memory 1/01 at 3-4-4-8 at 2.6V. I was trying to boot to windows and at the log on screen i would type in password and then it would hang up, happened about 6 times. Ran safe mode, got in to windows then restarted. Got to windows screen and it says something in registry was curropt but windows has recovered it. I got in that time but never since. I am currently running memtest right now. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Samsung uccc is finicky stuff. how to oc an athlon g. skill thread Familiarize yourself with the guide and memtest.
CPDMF Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Memory timings aren't right. That will corrupt Windows in nothing flat. Try working your way up instead of plugging numbers. Here's a link to a the UCCC at 260+ Thread. There is a spreadsheet you can download and have a look at what timings others are using. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41953
deeselcyde Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 would the memory i have be considered HZ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231021 Cuz everyone in that thread ^^^^^ has HZ

Praz Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I have some settings you can try to get started. I won't be able to post them till tonight sometime. Other then changing DS/DDS for your board and processor all other settings should allow you to reach at least 265. One stick of this pair is so bad that the computer won't boot up with that stick with bios set to optimal at 200 (also fails MemTest). These settings are so loose that I have 100% stability at 265 FSB. Once you get up and running, you can tighten up the settings. Praz Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Here are the settings I used. You'll have to adjust Tref, DD and DDS for your system. DRAM Response Time set to normal is very relaxed. With Max Async Latency and Read Preamble Time set to auto, the values will change as you change FSB but will still be relaxed because the initial values are set based on the DRAM Response Time setting. Hope this helps you. deeselcyde Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I am booting up, but when i click my user account to log on, the hard disk starts goin' but then it just stops, and sits there. Not into windows yet, just the blue user accounts screen. I have never been this unstable with RAM before. Is this a common unstability problem with RAM? Right now i can only get into windows in Safe Mode. Last night i had a spurt of everything working beautiful, scored highest ever on aquamark. Then i guess i went too far on my overclock. Did the wholel no boot at windows ordeal. Back it off ALOT(40 fsb). Still doesnt work from last night. Even at optimized results it locks up at windows. I have tried 2 peoples configs from threads and no help. I guess ill have to keep pluggin away. No Matter What I Do I Can Not Get Into Windows.....even at optimized defaults
deeselcyde Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 LOL. I seemed to of stumbled upon my problem. Okay, well, i wasnt getting into windows for the life of me. I kept on getting registry curroption notices(BUT, they were "resolved" according to windows). I recently reformatted, so i didnt care to do it again. Wen to reformat, but the Hard Drive Failed, yay LOL. Later Hard drive. Thats the 2nd 74 gig raptor in a row to fail on me, SECOND!!!! Guess ill have to RMA this one. But just to check to see it wasnt the memory. I went to my buddies house, and popped these in his asus, P4. And loaded optimized defaults, and am running prime "blend" right now, not one fail. So the memory seems to be good. Thanks for all your guys' help. Sincerely, Deeselcyde 143DFI
