Random errors

Recommended Posts

Ive had lots of problems in the last two day. heres the list:

frequent random blue screen (every 5mins at one point)

frequent random lock ups

Failing to boat

failing at dmi check on boot

What ive done:

stoped all oc's

formated C: and installed from scratch

ran memtest, superpi and a harddrive diagnostic tool. I passed all of them.

Heres the timeline:

friday night-all the problems above

saturday mourning- try to format a few times... it crashs, formats try to install-crash

saturday night-format, install no problems

monday afternoon- game for a few hours with no problems then it locks up and the problems are back.

monday evening-cant boot or crashs at desktop.

now-all fine and all diagnosit tools above pass with no problems.

the blue screen i get is the IRQL_LESS_THAN error

Anyone know whats going on? (my temps are fine)

Make sure you have all 4 power connectors plugged into the board.

Set the memory voltage to 2.8v.

Set the timings to 2.5-3-3-8

All others on AUTO.

What happens?

Then try 1 stick at a time.

What happens?

All power connectors are pluged in. i set to "optium settings" (the auto option on the bios screen that first loads) a while ago. problems came and went as stated. i also ran memtest LOTS during the problems and never had a problem below ddr400. i tried one stick breafly it didnt seem to have an inpact.

[exp 1]

* Run memtest on each stick for at least 3 hours.

* Use 2.8v and 2.5-3-3-8, all other settings on AUTO.

stick 1 = errors?

stick 2 = errors?

[exp 2]

* Run memtest on both sticks in orange slots

* Use 2.8v and 2.5-3-3-8, all other settings on AUTO.

stick1 + stick2 = errors?

[exp 3]

* Run memtest on both sticks in yellow slots

* Use 2.8v and 2.5-3-3-8, all other settings on AUTO.

stick1 + stick2 = errors?

Can you do that?
