Hello.

I have researched my new build as best I can and I have come up with the following. Please review and give feed back on any incompatibilites or suggestions of improvement. I plan to order tonight or tomorrow. My major concerns are if my power supply is good enough and do I have the correct ram for overclocking. My budget is $2500 and the prices listed include shipping. Thank you for any help you are able to give.

Looks fine to me. You really gonna get everything from that many sources? I prefer consolidating I guess...

Edit:

Actually that PSU might not work. It IS one of the best ones you can buy, however I don't believe that variant has the 8-pin connector that the Expert needs. Check out the PC Power & Cooling 510 ASL, you might have to buy it from their website, thats where I got mine from.

Your ram should do fine as well, though you don't really have to get the super-expensive stuff if you don't want. There are some pretty good kits around $200, and I believe G.Skill had some on sale for around $160 or sometihng...

Looks pretty good....I have the same power supply and its great.

Memory is fine....with that chip you will only have a 9x multi so in order to see the true colors of the chip you will probably be running 9x300 or higher and thus will have to run a divider on your memory. Personally I would stay away from the EB memory you have chosen because although it does have great timings there have been some problems with different batches in the past.

My recommendation for memosy hasn't changed in the last 2 months when going for 2gb kits.

All looks good....you did some good research I doubt you will have probs.

the only upgrades I would consider would be an Opty 170 rather than the 165, and perhaps upgrade the HS to an SI-120 rather than the 90... (For the opterons, I suggest going through a smaller retailer such as TankGuys.com, or Dave Graham over at Flickerdown... that way you are able to get chips with specific "steppings" for a good price! I think Dave still has a few decent 170's in stock)

Also, dont forget to plan for proper cable management; and perhaps even spend some time modding the case for great airflow!

It looks good though, and fun! so GL!

Well, I might be cheap but you asked some opinions:

mobo: why not a sli-d® rather than expert - by this way you can also buy 24+4 pin psu rather than 24+(4+4) or 24+8pin

psu: if going with expert, sunbeam nuoo (550w) or ocz 600 should be perfectly fine for much less. If decided on sli-dr, ocz 520w or 600w.

ram: definitely recommend ddr500 rather than ddr400. OCZ, g.skill, or mushkin.

vid card: why not a 7900gt in sli for $600 (if you have a monitor that is capable of 1600x1200 and you are using it in that resolution). If not sli why not x1900xt for $450.

cooling: si-120 with panaflo or delta fans...

Just my $0.02

you can get that zalman bracket and fan for less on newegg, and the xp-90 is also cheaper on svc....also i am with the others...go for the ocz psu...

i would also opt for the g.skill ram...cant beat it for 159.00 on newegg

and you might want to consider the 170 opty as well

just for the record, I am using the PC power and cooling 510 SLI with a 4-8 pin adaptor and have absolutely no problems whatsoever. Though if i were purchasing right now, I'd definitely recommend getting one with an 8-pin just because its the newest reviosion.
