JoeSmith Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi, i've got a serious problem with my pc. For the third time now my ocz vx 4000 seems to be dead. I already went through 2 rma processes and everything was fine, at least for some time. It seems as if my board is killing the ram, but i'm not 100% sure. I've read the threads where people suggest not to use the 4v Jumper, but at the time i bought the mainboard it was advertised as being able to give ram more than 3.3V. Without that ability i wouldn't have bought the board. The main problem is : When i'm going to rma my ram it's just a question of time till it's dead again and giving the ram 3.2V ends in a lack of performance. My local pc store will not take the board back or give me a new one reason : it's working (and explaining them... not working) In my opinion i bought a product that was advertised as having a certain feature which, in the end was useless (if i follow your suggestions) and seems to destroy other components What am i supposed to do ? Thanks Joe
Gipse Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi, how much Volts do you need for your VX? There is a nice trick from Andy@OCZ, you´ ll find it in the "Modification area" (worked perfectly with my old Redlines). Gipse edit: might be a bit difficult with your PSU, but should be doable with a little modding knowledge:nod:

Fum Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I went through two rma's of VX before I gave up on it... a friend of mine is on his third rma, although this time OCZ is sending him a 2gb platinum kit instead. Do they still make/sell VX?

tw33ter Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 These are the settings I'm running on my vx4000 and ultra-d, give these a try, and yes I'm using the 4v jumper without any problems. You might wanna look at getting a different power supply, that one doesn't meet the 480w requirements?
