Kakarot Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Long story short, when I was trying to get my SLI to work... I botched my OS somehow. I used a second hdd to get things up and running. However, I would like to recover some emails and what not. I do not know how to use the repair function... it just goes to a black dos screen. When I try to boot (normal or safe mode) it gets to the windows loading screen... then just reboots. **Also: 2 update I got into the repair function but then its asks me for drivers..... asks for the CDROM laballed SRCDATA I tried the dfi floppy, cdrom and windows... no go?! Any advice would be appreciated, or what command to run in repair that may right this. Thx in advance
Guest SuppA-SnipA Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 hook up your hdd where your files are, to the secondary channel with a slave jumper setting, windows should detect the hdd if it is in the ntfs partition

red930 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Which e-mail program did you use?
Redbeaver Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 or if u want to restore windows, just put the windows CD in, boot to CD, then after agreeing F8, it *should* detect a "previous windows installation. Would you like to repair this windows instalation instead? Press R". then u press R. it will bring windows back to whne u installed it first, but u dont loose any settings, programs, emails, stuff.... just reinstalling the OS itself. I do that, but it brings me to a dos screen! Not the windows screen? If I could get this to work, like you say above. It will be SWEET!
