Question about RAM

Recommended Posts

Bios see's or reports 3 gig out of 4 (dual chn)

Same for windows XP

CPUZ reports all 4 sticks & all in dual chn

(as do a few benchmark programs)

This I can live with...

However, the mobo wants to run my DDR400 @ DDR333.

What would the correct way of getting my ram speed back to DDR400?

I am a total n00b when it comes to this board (owned for just 6 days) & the bios having run Asus boards & bios for many many years prior to this.

Put both sticks in the orange slots (2 and 4)

Check the MOBO documentation it explains more about different configurations and what's to be expected.

Thank you, but that would be 4 (FOUR) sticks of 1 gig matched pairs..

2 orange, two yellow.

Sorry, I need to read slower sometimes.

Isnt there something in the manual about 4xdouble sided sticks? It runs @ DDR333 for some reason?

Not sure about the 3gb problem though.
