Angry_Games Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 X-FI is probably the best card on teh market right now, and has optical SPDIF output so it will work in any receiver that can handle optical SPDIF inputs. since the X-Fi is 7.1, if your receiver is capable of digital 7.1 you shouldn't have any problems
puddy77 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Does anyone have any experience with the new Auzentech X-Plosion? I am really attracted to its Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect features. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16829156001 And it's got a a few good reviews: http://www.auzentech.com/company.html
Guest Blooz1 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I read that "Rage3D" review of the Auzentech card, and it sounds like a great product at a reasonable price! DDL is the main reason I'm still using my A7N8X-E Deluxe for most of my websurfing, as streaming audio through the Soundstorm is still the best. This sounds like the best combination of a "gaming" card and "audio" card I've seen in a while. I'd definitely try one of thse in my HTPC - my Chaintech AV-710 does a good job in that role (just music and movies, no gaming) , but it's also got a lot of limitations. EDIT: Just happened to see this - card is $99 after MIR at ZipZoomFly; http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ductCode=234502
warzer Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 so if i will get out 7.1 from the x-fi why or how does it benifit at all do have the soundstorm with digital encoding? If any of the output ports on say audigy or x-fi does the same. What am I missing. IN a game say bf2 will the x-fi passthough give me the 5.1-7.1 i want to hear where bullets and footsteps are comming from? I don't watch movies on my pc so i am not concerned as far as that is. But i may in the future. Please enlighten me and thanks for all the advice so far.
