Esstee Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Today I installed a Seasonic s12 500 on my DFI Ultra-D and so I decided to visit the BIOS health section and found the 12v rail was registering 16.4volts! I immediatly shut down and grabbed my meter to get a first rate reading on the 12v rails from the PSU. they all came out @ 12.5 - 12.8v no load... so no problems there I could see. So... I grabbed my Antec true power and wired that one up and once again looked it up in the bios and found .... 16.7 volts again! So... anyone have any idea what this is? I never noticed it before so I can't say how long it has been like this. The board is sitting on the fireplace mantle atm. I'm typing this on my old A8N-SLI board. jumpman Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 you should use a multimeter WHILE u have the psu connected to your rig...and you'll find out ^^
EdLSmith Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I would re-flash BIOS, probably corrupt, If voltage was that high actually, well something would have fried and you could smell it. Be opimistic!

I'd have to check while its out of the box (I think). I also thought about the BIOS I flashed it from wondows so perhaps it was not a great success. I think I'll just get the board replaced to be safe.
