Sorrento Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 The AMD64 dual core driver, the Microsoft hotfix and the registry hack to disable it, and some other stuff to consider with dual core cpu's are explained in this link: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781 Prime95 can be used to test the stability of your processor once it is overclocked, and the time you need to run it depends on how stable you want your system to be. Check out the two errata settings at BIOS, I am not sure yet but I had them disabled and my system had a ton of problems... now that I have them on AUTO everything is smooth, 2.5 ghz at stock voltage when before 2.25 ghz wasn't posible with the same stock voltage. poseyj Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 what are these 'errata' settings you are talking about? thanks
Sorrento Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 At BIOS, at one menu... forgot its name, but it could be Enchance PCI settings or something. I am still not sure about them, but my Opteron 175 works diferent with them on Auto... and auto means the setting can be enabled or disabled, depending if its needed... so Auto is ok.
