2nd Harddrive Being Stupid...

I had a post awhile ago asking how to install my second harddrive and I had decided to (even though it slows performance) put both harddrives on the same IDE cable, mainly because I don't have the manual for my DVD drive to look up the jumper settings in. However, once I hooked up the Western Digital harddrive, on the slave settings, keeping my old Seagate drive on the Primary Master setting, my computer wouldn't boot, and it only recognized one harddrive... I tried using the "Western Digital Data Lifeguard disk" that came with the WD harddrive, but it doesn't detect a WD harddrive! Can someone help me? Thanks.

You can try your DVD drive's manufacturer website to find the jumper settings (more than likely it is "left pin=master, middle pin=slave, right pin=cable select") or I could be wrong :) but check the site. And is your WD HD a "known good" HD? Try putting the WD HD on your secondary IDE cable and see if it is detected
