Just built my computer about 5 months ago. It wasn't top of the line, but it suited me well. Are my base components set, as in, I don't need to upgrade memory, motherboard, etc? I've got some spare money, what do you think I should upgrade? I'm thinking of getting rid of 6600GT (though it has served me well), as well as my 3200+, with a 7800GT (maybe 7800GTX), and the 3200+ with a 3800+ dualie. Then I would pretty much be set for another 6-8 months. I don't OC, and I just want a stable system, so anyone have any input?

7800GT might be an economical upgrade path. It should put up more FPS than the 6600GT ok enough. Unless you are into something that is heavy duty DVD ripping or opening window after window in wild multi-tasking of some sort the dual core is not going to give you anything noticeable in performance. You have to really load the system to see dual cores do anything.

And all your stuff at stock speed just does not seem to warrant a ton of money outlay. But then it is your money. Have fun.

Your system looks good, if you want to look at upgrading look at your videocard and the cpu, and only when the price is right for you. EVGA 7900gt $299.00 at newegg, also look for a duel core cpu. But I would only upgrade when you notice a slowdown in games or if you find a deal so good you cant pass up.

if you dont even know if you need or should upgrade....the answer is very simple. No.

only upgrade when you feel liek your computer cannot keepup with your needs or does for some reason not suit your expectations...but your system is actually very decent
