OK here is for my first post :D

I recently purchased the NF4 SLI-DR Expert. I'm pulling an ABIT AN8 SLI out and stuffing this one and and I'm very excited about it. However I hav learned not to jump before I look. I currently have 1 RAID 0 (2x 250G)set up on my existing board and windows on a 200g. My question is do i need to worry about the raid aray? I have heard that it might work and I figured i would ask here. The experts if you wil  The other question is that on the setup it says when installing the vid card(s) SLI in my case to remove some screws which i see none of. Am i blind???? This will be my first DFI board and i've heard great things. I've been looking around to see what i need to do to prepare my self for the swap and i haven't really found to much. I was able to get my a64 3000+ up to 2.6ghz on my old board and that was with stock HSF. I'm going to upgrade to WC as soon as i install the board get every thing installed. One more questions is do i have to install a new copy of the OS or will a repair work? Thanks for your help and i'm sure i'll have more questions to come ;) Thanks again in advance

EDIT: I'll be installing my water blocks soon and i'll take lots of pictures may be to be used for a How-To. Well me being a Noob to WC may be some one could do the typing :shake: More Info to come.

Before you tear the old rig down be sure to "break" the RAID array. If you don't break the old array you will have to use a utility to "zero" the drives before you can build the new array.

Not sure what you mean about the screws. A pic might help.

Thanks for the quick reply I have searched for a pic and am still working on it but it is in my manuel for installing it so i'll see what i can come up with. as far as "breaking" the aray the only/best way to do that is copy/backup the data and then go from there or is there a way to have the computer do that? Also do you know if the ram i have will work with this board I have to RMA it and it any one knows it won't work i might as well swap it now. Thanks again

i think what exrodie means is for you to back up what ever files you may want off you hd, and then, go into the bios on your current setup, and delete your raid array.

so when you set up your hds on the new mobo, you wont have any probs.

OK just got done with the fresh install. Windows loaded Succesfully :D But of course there are some speed bumps. I can't get my system to let me enable SLI. I've seen the setting in the bios for SLI Broadcast Apeture Disable/Auto options and also Dual NV Chip Card Support (notes for it say Dual 6600GT ...) I have the 7800GT ???? please help

EDIT: I found the setting (thanks google) and it is working now.

enabling SLI on this board was like pulling teeth.....try this:

Download most current nvidia driver.

Uninstall driver on your system....reboot.

Shut down

Install second card and bridge

Startup and go into BIOS.....enable SLI broadcast aperture to auto and enable the 8-4-8 pci configuration

Save and exit

Install newest driver....before rebooting enable SLI (there should be a little window that will pop up from the bottom right of the screen to enable SLI....so this before rebooting)

Reboot

Enjoy......

I had the SLI aperture enabled but i couldn't find the 8.4.8 option for some time. I'll have to check what ver of bios for my vid card i'm running to see if i need to update it or not but its working fine now. The next thing i'm going to do is install my 4 250g hdds. Trying to decided if i want to run 2 Raid 0 arays or 1 big one. the biggest issue i have is i have about 450g of data that whould have to be backed up if i made one large aray.

IT is in the same menu where you choose your voltages.....pci express configuration of something like that. Default it will say 16-1-1-2. You wanna change it to 8-4-NC-8.
