SiCXecutioNeR Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Hello, I hope that I am typing this in the correct section. My details of my computer are in my sig, and here is my problem.. I have 2 gigs of Patriot RAM running in my computer right now, they work in both the yellow and orange slots of the mobo. I then have a set of G.skill PC4800 FF ram, 1 gig set, that also works in the mobo. I go into the bios, set it for 2T, and relaxed timings, of 7-3-3-2.5cl, and then pop the g.skill in with the 2 sticks of patriot, and I can only get the g.skill to recognize in the post screen. It doesnt show me the 2 gigs of patriot. I tried them in different slots, changing them around, and I cant get 3 gigs to show up. I also tried different bioses. Modded and official, and even beta. But nothing gets them to run. Is it the motherboard acting up? Or is it just that picky on what it likes to run with? Any help I would love to get. I need it! Angry_Games Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Or is it just that picky on what it likes to run with? its just that picky. I have two sets of OCZ VX4000, but when I run all 4 sticks, all of my Lanparty Nf4 boards only pick up 2 of the modules...when I run the modules by themselves and check their SPD info, they differ. one is 2.5-3-8-3, and the other is 2-3-8-3. I've tested with other mismatched SPD modules just to see, and about 95% of the time, the board will only recognize one set of modules. Drop 4 identical sticks in though, and it will recognize all 4 together. there is no real solution to this other than to have 4 identical memory modules. Best advice is to get your money's worth out of the 4800's and your 2GB Patriots and get into a 2x1GB kit like the Gskill 4000's or OCZ 4000's (both easily capable of DDR500+). less strain on the cpu's memory controller, and you are assured 2GB of working memory
steelballzz Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 i tested for a few weeks 2x256 ch5 and 2x256 bh6...togheter 2T and i went 245 2-3-2-5 3,3 v no sweat went through some tests...priming and folding..... then i sold the bh6 and went back to 2x256...and i missed alot that extra memory....even 2T my rig would run much better with 1g i guess i was lucky
supershanks Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 maybe try 1)Download :- Thaiphoon Burner 1.0 this will read your modules SPD. Click the EEprom menu & select read next select options & view details you can save this page but either way make a note of the settings at the bottom for each module you have. 2)Turn off & remove power put 1st pair in orange sockets leave yellow empty. for now. Reboot & enter bios manually enter the slowest(slackest) settings you got from 1) save & exit. Also enter the max memory voltage for your modules. 3) you might run memtest now 4) if u pass memtest (or can't be botthered ) add the remaining modules to yellow slots. 5) keep everything crossed  luck
