ICON57 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 i might just give these a try...but price is kinda steep for just a few digits of change not sure how much better these might be than the hz's, although, i believe they are ch-5, which might not be as picky as the uccc's.
d3M0n Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 those look like a VERY nice pair of sticks!! Not sure the performance boost will actually be worth the $80 hike though. We'll have to see... I mean, I could see paying that much more than the HZ pair if they were guaranteed to hit DDR600, but they are only rated for DDR 500 with just some very minor tighter timings (3-3-2-8 vs 3-4-4-8). I'll follow the performance reviews on this pair, but I'm not holding my breath that they will be all THAT much better... Thats true.. although it will be nice IF they scale up in mhz when the timings are loosened up from 3-3-2-8.. Here is a link to this ram on Gskill's site if anyone is interested.. ! d3M0n Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 You're right, but in my experience the most you'll ever get extra by loosening those timings (after you've found the best "lower level" timings for the max MHz) is another 5 (I'd say at 3-4-4-8), and maybe even 10 MHz if loosened to 3-5-5-10. That would be great only if they can scale to like 280-290 with the stock timings stable. Thats true.. although it will be nice IF they scale up in mhz when the timings are loosened up from 3-3-2-8.. red930 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I don't know about you guys, but these UCCC are giving me a headache just as they did to Thunda

I don't know about you guys, but these UCCC are giving me a headache just as they did to Thunda Your telling me..lol.. My friend is using that corsair UCCC now but I will be getting it back soon.. I might mess with it some more but Ive pretty much settled with the fact that it will only do around 260 fully stable.... red930 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Talk about odd errors on dividers. I mean when i was using my BH-5 @250MHz 2252 3.5v they would run with the same gd settings on any dividers i throw at it. I got these UCCC modules stable @264MHz but if i put them on a divider i'll have to still change timings around, ODD! All the tech can say is keep on repeating the same thing he says to everyone else, LOL! Try these......200, enabled.3448.......blah blah blah.....
