dIAMONDback Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 This might not be in the right place for this but with so many having problems with BSOD's this might help somebody. This works Only IF you can get into SAFE MODE! and when there run regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionReliability Look for a DWORD value "ShutDownReasonUI" Set value to "1" , if it is not there create DWORD value. then reboot , start normally ..get the BSOD ..reboot go back into Safe Mode and see below What this does is, it enables "Shutdown Event Tracker" within Windows and records the shut down reason in the Event Viewer which can be accessed through Control Panel's Administrative Tools App. Once you know the reason for BSOD ya can fix it ! This will also work for Games/Apps crashing your system I bow to the judgement of the Admins in placement of this. good luck
