Can no longer change Cas Latency

I started my computer today and for reasons unknown I was given the error where it says bios defaults loaded f1 to continue... I haven't messed with my overclock since 07/05 because it was healthy and fast. Upon trying to restore my old settings, i kept running into a problem loading windows. After changing the settings one by one i find that when changing the cas latency from 2.0 to 2.5 or 3.0 it will boot, but will stay at the black screen just before booting windows. 3.0 actually stops while the drives are being detected. This really puts a damper on me getting my overclock back.

What could be the problem here? Any help would be great, thanks! =)

Thanks for the fast reply, I have cleared the cmos for 15 seconds and 30 mintues both didn't make me get past the part where it says "nForce 4 Ultra" on the boot screen. Right now I'm posting from another computer while I try an 8 hour clear. I have tried my old, and a few new bioses , currently the 704-2BTA.

I just honestly haven't touched my bios for 7 months and all the sudden it cleared the cmos , reloaded defaults and now if i change the cas to anything besides 2.0 it won't go. Anything else I might try if the 8 hour doesnt work?

Thanks again

Come to think of it I did just buy a keyboard and that was perhaps the first time i'd restarted since I plugged it in, any significance?

I'd switch back to old keyboard and see what the result is. That is if you can.

Yeah, if he has been running that TccX at 300Mhz for months it has taken a dump and will not run other than Cas2. Have had 2 brands do it. RMA is the only hope for the memory has entered the crapper and 'only' running CAS2.0 was 'my' first symptom.
