Ziggy54354 Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 so netzero has this isp that is "5x faster that normal dialup". Is this true or is it just 5x faster than its severely crippled normal netzero?
Sainou-Kun Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 I think what they do is some how compress the data in there network servers and the client on your comp decodes and decompresses it. The High speed also has less users per server. Im pretty shure thats how it works.

O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 So basically cable and dsl (or if you are super wealthy....t-type connections) are the ways to go <_<
robbie Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 If you get the "basic" netzero they will give you a very slow download speed. (let's say 2-3k/sec) if you get the "highspeed" they will give you something like 10-12k/sec. If you get cable or dsl, they'll give you 150-400k/sec. Rob All their advertisements for netzero hi-speed have fine print that says it's only for web browsing and emails and such. Downloading music, movies, attachments, etc is not faster.
