Wetchaser Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 As a gamer, i have many ports open on any given day. If the game doesnt have enough open, backround programs like teamspeak and x-fire probably account for most open ports. Can a hacker use this information to get to me? red930 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Depends upon how your router is configured. Which router do you have?
Guest SuppA-SnipA Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 if they happen to use a port that another application uses, it is possible, but i open ports every now and then, and i dont worry, obviously just open ports that you need check out www.portforward.com for more info, wide apps covered on specific routers
Wetchaser Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 is mostly a hypathetical question. I would have assumed this to be not the case, as every online gamer has to have ports open to play the game. So game shuts down, but ports are still opened. So i guess the answer is yes, wahh.
