Picking out a video card

So we all know that GPUs are made only by a few different companies (NVIDIA GeForce, ATI Radeon, etc), and that all graphics cards use one of them. So to get a GeForce 7800 GTX, for example, you choose from one of 14 cards (at least on Newegg). What I want to know, is what's the difference between the cards themselves? What makes the $519.99 BFG Tech better than the BIOSTAR for $409, for example, if the GPU is the same? TIA!

Just as suggested by "TheSpin" those and the bundles i guess. The benchmarks are all the same with 1-5fps varies as usual. I would get an OEM since it's cheaper. Why don't you get the new 7900GTX? It's cheaper than the X1900 series, but ATI is suppose to have a price drop soon for the R580 to compete with nVIDIA's new GPU's though, so keep that in mind as well.
