Well, my instructors at collage always told me that if I let the smoke out of something, it won't work anymore.... -- RaTeD-R, that's not the type of smoke I'm talking about.

Well, that instructor was right.

As I wasted the hours away attempting to orginize the corner of my room, and make some sort of since outa the jungle of wires, I [insert verb here] up...

If anyone remembers the pic's I posted earlier, you've seen my Linksys DSL router and my 3Com/USR ISDN modem... well, the cord, plug, and addapter for those two devices are almost identical... except for the fact one says, "9V 1000mA" and the other says "5V 2.1A"... Plug'ed them in wrong, and *ZAP*... no more router... well, it's there, it powers up, but that's it...

Hey, at least the ISDN modem works....

Hrmm... guess this add's me into the same "class" that bosco is in.... :D:P

Might just have to get that Cisco I've had my eyes on for a while now.... :)

w00t!! I got bit by the dumbass, and LinkSys ships me a new router...

"Thank you for calling LinkSys, this is ...."

"Uhh yeah, I just got back into town, and powered up my router, and the Diag light will not turn off"

"Hrmm... ok, can I get some info from you please?"

"Yeah..."

"What OS are you running?"

"Well... Windows XP..."

"Is that it?"

"No... there is a computer with Linux on it... another with @k Server and 2K Pro... I think there may be one downstairs with 98SE on it... got some others, but I forget what's on them..."

"Uhh.... umm.. Ok, and what is your ISP?"

"Comcast..."

.... *20 questions gets played for the next 10 min* ...

"And nothing happens when you press the reset button."

"Yes, that is correct."

"Ok, sir... Do you still have your orrigional reciept?"

"I believe so, yes..."

"I am going to issue you a RMA for a malfunctioning router, you'll need to use that reciept as your proof of purchase."

"Ok..."

"You should recieve your RMA and direction on how to return the router to us within the next 10 in to an hour... It takes about three days for us to ship out a new piece of equipment, after we recieve the old..."

"Ok..."

"Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"No, that should do it..."

"Well, thank you for calling LinkSys, have a nice evening."

"Thanks... you, too."

So... the moral of this story... keep your reciepts... and have a convincing story. :P
