Case Recommendation

I was going to re-use my Antec Sonata- But I really dont think all my stuff is going to fit in there now, espicially the OCZ 520w.

So I'm now looking for a Medium/Large Case to fit all of the stuff in my sig plus one with great air cooling.

Coolermaster Stacker = Street favorite

 

Lian Li V2000 or something is also a nice big case, but I have never had one (I have a Stacker though, and I will never use anything else other than a huge case like this!)

 

Lian Li's are great cases, Coolermaster....probably some others that I cannot remember

 

and old Chieftech Dragon aluminum is awesome if you don't want watercooling

No some like the powerstreem are a bit longer and have trouble with a few cases. The lan Li can have issues. I like the old antec soho server/ Chieftech Dragon cases though I like the industrail strenth steel ones appeal to me more though I would love to get a stacer or the thermaltake version.

i've got a lan li, it is a pleasure to move around, weighs less loaded than my last cases do empty. its got a fan on top that may cause a problem. other psus may look to screw into the top....

I’m venturing away from Dells for the first time, and since I don’t have my system yet, I’m posting from results of two months of research, and not actual experience with this case, but I’ve chosen the Antec SLK3000 as my case. At Newegg, I brought up a comparison between the SLK3000 and the case you have, and if you scroll down to where you see the case dimensions, you will see the SLK3000 is a tad bit larger. Coolermasters were very high on my list. Sure hope I'm not bustin a forum rule since I don't have actual experience with these cases.

Just as a FYI, you will want to ensure that the case includes clearance for the audio module on the DFI Lanparty UT. The audio module rises about 1/4'' above the backplane. If a fan is right there then you will have problems. I know, it was an issue with my last case.

You can't beat a Lian-Li with a stick. I have a 1200 and it's as big as a server case just laid on it's side. This way its really deep but not too high. Its about as high as the Sonata but much deeper. The Sonata had no room in it especially with the dumb assed duct work. I just junked my Brand new Sonata II for the Lian-Li after 3 months of use. The old lady gets the Sonata case when I rebuild my old computer. My temps went up a bit but I was able to fix that with the X90 and by using AS5 under the chipset fan.

The CPU temps are around 27 to 30 degrees(I do have the Zalman CNPS9500 which helps some:nod: ) & case temps are mid thirties.
