Description of problem: Computers are stable in Windows and during stability testing, but crash in a 3D enviroment such as games. The monitor loses signal and goes blank, while the sound begins playing a five to ten second loop. The only way to fix this is to restart the computer. Individual components such as CPU, RAM, video cards and powersupply, when tested in other systems work perfectly.

We have tried Forceware 81.95, 81.98, 82.12 drivers.

Also, nVidia nForce4 chipset drivers 6.53 and 6.70.

The 11/02/2005 BIOS appears to fix this problem, it is still being tested to see if the crashes have stopped.

Let me know if there is any other information you need Angry, and I'll send it tonight when I get home.

Edit: Added SkewdLogix and njack's systems to the compiled list.

I've got the same problem but it happens only very infrequently. I've been so busy at work the last few weeks that I haven't had time to deal with it but I'm definitely going to flash back to the 11/02 BIOS to see if that works.

Thanks for the info - I'll report back and let you know how the BIOS change works. BTW you can add my rig to the list you made earlier.

Note: my setup was on both; however, I do not remember how long it was on the 11/02 bios. Most of the problems seemed to happen more frequently on the 12/07. My new DFI LP Expert will be arriving within the next two days; I am starting with the 11/02 bios, and making sure that the floppy connector isn't causing a problem (which sounds more like a power supply issue more than anything; being that not everyone has the same power supply, I doubt this will have any influence on the issue).

Just keeping you guys in the loop, still no crashes and i have been BF2 on the net for 3 hours now. That's 4 days without a crash and no monitor out of range signal. If it's still the same tomorrow after work i'd suggest everyone with this problem flash back to the 11/02 bios.

one question before i go to the 1st BIOS..

does it affect RAID? cause i am in RAID0...?

anything that might get affected besides BIOS settings?

No i'm also running Raid0 and it's fine, no problems after flashing back to the 11/2 bios
