Windows XP Home or Professional

Hey Guys

I am building a system around the Expert board. It will be used for a home business and run a few games like Quake 3 , Quake 4 and Doom etc.. It will be running a single core processor AMD Athlon 64 4000+ , and two hard drives in non-raid or regular configuration. I plan to have a single MSI 7800 GTX video card and put another MSI 7800 GTX video card in the system in SLI configuration at a later date. Should I use Windows XP Home Edition or Professional Edition? Thanks

If money is not a problem ... GO for Pro !!!

If you got an expert, means you like tweaking so PRo is better than Home !

If you should have a doubt it would be between 32 or 64b version of Pro ...

For now no major diferencies between them ....

Hi

Here is an idea.

If you happen to know someone that works for MS, ask them if they will get you a copy of Pro from the company store. I paid $30.00 for mine in 2003. Perfectly legal too.

I suppose I will do the same with Vista too.

One thing I must add. You need to personally know the person. I can not have my friend get a copy for someone else.

Actually the difference for a home user isn't very big. I work with both, but as long as you're not planning to remotely controll another computer or set up a more advanced network, I would say Home or Pro doesn't matter. Some might feel better to have a Pro edition, you have all features, but most don't take advantage of them anyway.
