FanATIc205 Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 id (i would) . its prettty bad that a 500dollar dx9 card cant even properly do dx9 and has to use dx8 to even get playable performce. even thou the 9800 didnt do great in the vlave benches it way outperformed the fx series . Ziggy54354 Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 theres a problem with the 9600 pro where it gets artifacts at stock speed, ive built 2 comps with them and both had it so just be cautious. If you want a good card and have the money i think you should get a 9800 np. They are like 80$ more.
airman Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 why wouldn't you want the 256 meg version? really? maybe you just got unlucky are the artifacts THAT visible? if not, i don't really care. oh, and just so you know, i don't have the money
FanATIc205 Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 (edited) ive built 3 comps with the 9600pro and didnt have any artifacts maybe it was a temp problem case ot hot or just bad luck. also you dont need the 256meg version more ram doesnt mean faster frame rates. you want the 9600pro 128 you want a pro and not a 9600 no games out now uses more than 128megs of ram exept ut2k3 and thats @1600x1200 res with aa and af turned up . 256 is just a marketing hype thing right now . to fully use the 256megs you need a really powerful core something more powerful than anything out on the market Edited September 12, 2003 by fanATIc1205
