NRTabor5 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Alright, I have the OCZ Platinum Rev2 Dual Channel stuff. 2x512. It runs stable at 200 with 2-2-2-5 timings. This is factory so it better be stable. I've read the memory guide and a couple of reviews and they recommend 250 with 2.5-3-3-5. I did this and ran memtest for a couple hours with no errors. I then went to boot into windows and after it runs through all the settings checks it flashes quickly to a blue screen and then resets. It doesn't give me enough time to read the screen it just is a flash of blue with lots of writing on it. It won't boot into windows. I'm very new to overclocking so if I'm just being a noob and set things way to high just tell me. If there is something stupid that I have forgotten to change that I should have then that's also probobly the case. I left the memory at 2.7 volts. Should I up that? CrashBFH Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Stay at 2.7 volts, and put the ram in the yellow slots.
judge264 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 I have that exact memory. The best I could get was 2.5-4-3-7. Anything less and I'd get similar problems to what you're descriding. Here's what I'm running right now at DDR 512. THunDA Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 NRTabor5.. Are you trying to run 250x10.. ? IF so then have you tested your cpu with the ram on a divider to confirm your cpu is fully stable at 2500mhz..? Its hard to help and suggest things with such limited info, there could be many things causing your problem..

Amen to this ,,, you went from 200 to 250 and you are thinking is your ram but i think it's your cpu not stable at that speed. As i've been told here you need to read the overclocking guide before you fry your cpu. test each individual part on its own the combine. all your answers and steps are in the oc guide on this site. good luck
NRTabor5 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Alright, I knew I should have gone through that guide first. Thanks guys. I'll go buy some good cooling and then work through the overclocking guide.
