longshot519 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I just upgraded my pc with a sempron 2800+ and nf3 mobo. My previous was intel based. I installed the my the same harddrive from my previous system and formatted it so I could have a clean install with the new system. Windows goes through the normal set up, copies files, and comes to the point where it says it will reboot in 15 seconds. Here's where I'm having problems. Everytime it reboots, it reboots back to windows setup. No matter what I've tried it always reboots back to windows setup. Any help would be apprecitated. Guest thespin Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Don't boot from the CD on reboot ... boot from the HD but the rest of the setup will require the CD ...
Guest Dynamic Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 So the first boot to install the operating system from the cd you'll need to press any key, but when it reboots and comes back to that screen where it says "To boot from CD please press any key" do not press anything and let it go into the hard drive installation by itself, good luck! longshot519 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I tried both suggestions. With cd as the primary boot option, the computer stops with "from cd press any key to continue" on the screen after reboot. It doesn't proceed to the next boot option. With hdd as the primary boot option, the computer stops with "Verifying DMI Pool Data" on the screen after reboot.
