Well i was trying to get my 2 Hitachi Deskstars into raid 0, in enabled everything and all that jazz, but when i was creating a partition for 9550 like the tutorial told me to and entered windows, it only recognize C: drive or also known as my HDs as 9.32 GB... could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? this is the tutorial i was following http://www.angrygames.com/nf4raid-1.htm Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sorrento Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Yep, two hard drives in a RAID-0 (stripping) array become one and its size is actually the sum of each individual hard drive. So TWO 80gb hard drives in RAID-0 will become an array of 160gb, and there you will be able to make any number or size of partitions till the space is full. Btw and FYI, 80gb isn't always 80gb, but actually 80,000,000 bytes... manufacturers like to tell you its gb when it is actually billions of bytes, so if it says 80gb it will be something around 76.3 gb in size, so a RAID-0 array will be 76.3 x 2 or something in that order :mad: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
red930 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 If you create a small boot partition and install Windows, this is the only formatted partition you will see once the OS boots.
