Just like to say I have finnished my expert build with the parts in sig. It was a more painless build than my ultra d build and I am now overclocking the crap out of my opty!

I would just like to say this was also my first build with a DFI board {in sig} and for those of you whom I've noticed have posted, questionong buying a DFI board please keep in mind this is a forum for people to get answers to their question concerning their system, I had absouletly NO problems with my build in part to Rgone and Angry's guides and everyone else here on the STREET! Follow their input and guides and you'll have a very cool hard core system Mine ROCKS Thanx all. Now to get to clock'en.

Chalk up another Expert victory for me too.

After I made a bit of a mess of my SLI-DR (see this thread) I've just rebuilt with an Expert and Opty 146.

So far very painless. I even used my SLI-DR ram settings and it's all good. Just finding the Opty's feet, but so far so good and overclocking well.

I guess I need to update my sig soon ;)

Ditto, re no issues on my first ever build. Everything is going very smoothly with no cold-boot issues to date (although I have PSU/CPU/MB combo that others have seen problems with and I have been trying to replicate the problem). Big thanks to the DFI folks and others on here for the great information.

Not sure about the temp reporting issue...mine sits at about 27C at idle on the table with a Ninja (barely warm to the touch) and Antec TriCool on medium.

No RAM issues with 2*1GB sticks of Mushkin in the Orange slots all tested with MoBo MemTest for 4hr plus. Now I just need some time to get it in the case and finish the build to see where my temps end up and how far I can OC it.

Only issue so far is that the clips on the Ninja make it hard to insert the 2nd stick of RAM in the orange slot (nearest CPU) as they overhang the slot. It does clip in though, but will be tough to get in & out once in the case. Also, you can't really mount the 120mm fan pushing air towards top of case as the Vid card will be in the way (due to location of CPU on this board). Minor issues and can work around them.

i jsut finished my build aswell :) its up and running fine. it was easy with the great guides in this forum.

im running since monday and have some things to say.

the board dont like my tccds^^ first oc attempts failed. i flashed with ocz tonys bios, removed one stick and now my opti is (atm) 9h [email protected](265x11) @ 1.53v its 35°full load :D

ram is on 3-4-4-8-2t (relaxed timings b/c of the problems i had in my first attemts) 1:1 with 2.9v.

sad to say i cant make any entrys in the ocdb b/c i dont have a propper gfx^^ im using a pci 64mb gfx until the 7900 is out -.- the 7800gtx with 512mb is not available in germany :) or is it still possible to run gfx-benches with this card?

tomorrow after 24h priming ill try to find a possibility to get both sticks of my ram running.

perhaps the new bios fixed my problems already (hope so :) )

ok thx to all in here, i spend a lot of time reading and reading threads about nearly everything. i know a lot more now after reading over half of a year in this forum.

i learned a lot but i had to read things 3-4 times b/c i didnt understand everything right b/c of the language^^ but this is the 2nd + my english is much better now too ;)

ur amazing here !!!

Yes I happen to think my temps are reporting accurately, but I only have gut feel to go on. I know what my Winchester used to sit at with certain voltages, and this Opteron is about the same or slightly higher so it feels about right. (Idle 28-30C, load 45-49C).
