sosone Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 :shake: Can't get over 2800.I'am running at 2750,10*275.It's 100% stable,htt*4,mem. 458_2-2-2-5,chipset-1.50v,ldt-1.40v.mem.-2.90.Temps.cpu(idle 25-27c,full load 35-40c,northbridge 42c.memory not to hot, blowing vents from the side) Now,if i increase fsb to 280 system boots at 1.67,but is not stable on 1.81v.I have also increased ldt, northbridge voltages for 0.1v,still unstable. Is this just my cpu that needs over 1.81v.to work,or i reached highest oc. with this cpu.Which are safe maximum voltages for this cpu(closest),and for this memory(read on geil site,3.30-3.90v.for 500 2.5-3-3-7).Thanks guys. :shake:
ludeboy12 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 there is no single SAFE value for voltage besides stock volts. As you go up ur risk of failure goes up. the max is an iffy issue. some will say 1.6v on air, 1.7v on water and what not but really its all up to you. in the end its ur money and if the cpu fries it fries. not the end of the world really. but on a side note, i ran my 3200 at 1.82v 24/7 which kept me 100% stable at 3ghz. i even ran that sucker all the way up to 1.9 once just to see how high she would clock but i wasnt about to leave it that high. of course i want to point out that im on phase so even w/ the high voltage my temps were always good. and obviously i understood the risk i was taking. soo....do what ya gotta do to hit the clocks you want....and enjoy it.... scottyv Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 id never go above 1.6 24/7 and id use 1.65 temporarily. despite the cooling. the only thing i can suggerst to you if u is put your ltd/fsb at 3x instead of 4x ur at 275x4=1100 ... basically u dont want to go over 1000 so drop it to 3x ..that might get you to 2.8ghz , also use 1.65v as your max (in my opinion) do wut ever you want tho . but personally i dont go over 1.65 usually 1.6 24/7 and another thing to suggest is better cooling if none of those dont work . personally 2.7ghz was the max on my 3000+ venice and that is very similar to yours. good luck and please lower that vcore before it fails :
Gipse Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Hi, you have a nice overclock  . 2.75/2.8GHz is not very usual for a 3500+ Venice. Your voltage is very high, even 1.6xV (measured via dmm or bios?); this board overvolts under load. Gipse
sosone Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Thanks guys.So 3000+,3200+venice is better made cpu than 3500+venice,although a lot cheaper. And Gipse, tell me please yours htt*,ldt v. and northbridge v.Thanks.
