SebSom Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Hello, i have bought a DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D in an online shop (but its not here at the moment). I don't know if the components which I have work without problems. Can you help me? 1. Does the ASUS Extreme N7800GT work properly because i have read that the chipset cooler is a little bit to tall? 2. Does my 2x MDT 512MB PC3200 (doublesided) RAM work properly (200 MHz and Dualchannel)? (because I have read that the mainboard has problems with unknown RAM's) 3. Does a Scythe Katana CPU cooler fit on the mainboard without taking the space of the RAM/graphics card? It would be nice of you if you can help me! nice greetings
rebelangel Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 1. yes it will fit. 2. I don't think it will work but you could try 3. don't know but i think it will fit it might be tricky getting your ram in it's not that big
SebSom Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Thank you for your answer... What is the problem with the RAM's ? i used them on many other boards and they work...
rebelangel Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 this board is really picky about the ram my old kinstons didn't work and your ram isn't on the approved memory list. but you could be lucky. vieles geluk und viel spass
SebSom Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Hello, ok then I have to buy new RAM. What do you think about this: G.Skill DIMM Kit 1024MB PC3200 DDR CL2-3-3-6 (PC400) (F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX) http://www.gskill.com/f1-3200phu2-zx.html Does it work properly (PC400, Dualchannel, CL2-3-3-6) ? And another question: I had a nForce 2 Board, there I had to deactivate ACPI in the BIOS...shall I do it with the Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D too? lowboy Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Most have been using the gskill pc4000 hz sticks and having good luck with them.
bexer Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Try your ram first. If it doesn't work or you want to do some serious overclocking(who doesn't) or you don't mind buying new ram then get the g.skills.
red930 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Hello,1. Does the ASUS Extreme N7800GT work properly because i have read that the chipset cooler is a little bit to tall? The chipset cooler is exactly to ATX specifications. The video card will touch the shroud if 1. the case is not perfectly aligned causing the card to angle down into the shroud, 2, the card has extra material that is out of spec, 3. the motherboard is mounted to the case with the wrong standoffs changing the angle of the card. SebSom Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 @ bexer but I want to overclock... isn't it possible to run the RAM's at standard clock with the divider ? Then you can overclock or not? Does the Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D have an PCI-Fix and an PCIe-Fix (at which clock has the PCIe to run?) @ ExRoadie what do you mean with it...will the Asus Extreme N7800GT fit ? it is clear that if the case, mainboard or video card are connected in a wrong way... it wont work. but is there the space that it will fit? is there a problem for the chipset cooler if the video card is over the cooler? SebSom Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Does the Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D have an PCI-Fix and an PCIe-Fix (at which clock has the PCIe to run?) How can i recognize (see) that my RAM wont work with the Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D
JVG81 Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Since my Geil ONE's are in rma I'm using two old (and different) pc2700 256Mb modules right now. Can even overclock it, although it doesnt work in dual channel. IMO the stories about how only expensive RAM will work with DFI are a bunch of fairy tales.
