CPDMF Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 ATI cards work just fine. I've had 3 different ones in my NF3. No problems
Guest Blooz1 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I've run nothing BUT Ati-based cards in 5 different nForce boards over the past 3-4 years without a hitch.
Smoken Joe Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Yup plenty of loyal nforce fans use ATI.
adreno Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I have both 9800 Pro, and X800xt in my nF3 board, and they both fly. Very few problems other than getting the right nvidia driver versions installed.
learners permit Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Yep 9800xt, x800xt no problems at all.
e268 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I have been using Celestica ATI 9600xt for the pst year. Not any hint of any problem at all. I even oc'd the GPU.
cmay119 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 My uncle is running a X850XT in his 250Gb without a hitch, before that card he was using a 9600XT which worked just as well. Personally, I've heard of more issues with nVidia based cards on the nF3 than ATi.
Angry_Games Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 well I have spent most of the day building a DFI Lanparty NF3 Ultra-D 939 AGP motherboard with a 4400+ X2, and a 9800XT, and Corsair 2x1024MB 3500LL PRO (LED's) as my new main vid creation rig. I've never had a problem with ATI cards on NF3 boards regardless of flavor/model, and neither should anyone else
GarethS Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I've got an Ultra-D AGP on its way to me that I intend to be using with a 4400+ X2 (watercooled) and X800Pro (air cooled, unlocked to 16 pipes and running 500/500 stable on s754 NF3 motherboard). My (non-DFI) s754 NF3 is running the 5.10 drivers and latest Omega modded Catalysts. I noticed some other people have had problems with the Ultra-D and X800s. I take it these have been isolated incidents and the majority have had success with the NF3 Ultra-D AGP and X8xx cards? I take it that the 5.10 drivers are currently considered the best ones at the moment?
Branjo Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 IMPO DFI boards love ATI or nVidia its just a matter of personal choice. I like ATI better though......BUT! and thats a big BUT!... the 7800 is now out in AGP so I may jump the ATI Ship
Angry_Games Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I used the 8.22 remix drivers that others are using (i used the search function in this section!) and the newest Omega drivers for ATI based on the CAT6.1's and everything is working smooth as glass at the moment I'm doing all of the Stock Speed Database tests so I'll post those results up when they are done (tomorrow sometime)
