Can sum1 please help me figure out the right timing for this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820231019 i tried reading the overclocking guide but its jsut too much for me to comprehend right now. the problem is i cant go over 2.95ghz on my opteron 148. increased the vcore and everything still wont let me pass 2.97. another issue im having with this ram is im running a 200 divider (1:1) with timing of 2.5 4-8-4 even tried 2.5 3-5-3 with fsb of 270, multi of 11, htt 3 tried x4 when i look at cpu-z to check the ram frequency its onlu 270mhz? isnt that under clocking the ram? and not suggested? my ram is rated to go 277mhz stock if i go with 233 divider no post. if i set everything to stock or auto cpu-z is telling me the ram iis only going 157 or 167 mhz. any solution to this? im using the 704-2beta bios by the way

you most likely wont be able to get past 2.95ghz with your stepping opteron without extreme cooling. i have the same series stepping as you and the best i can do is 2940 and that is not even completely stable. see how high you can get with a 1:1 ratio using an 11 multiplier. run your ram at stock latencies (2.5-4-4-8) as you will offset the performance hit of the lower latencies by not using a divider with a higher HT. you probabably will find the sweet spot of this stepping is 2.8 stable @ stock volts (1.4v). thats what i run mine at... but best of luck to you going higher

Hmmm thats odd i was able to go 2.97ghz 8hrs prime stable and occt above normal stable, couldnt reach 3.0ghz cuz of the voltage on my msi mobo limits me to go beyond 1.60v. oh well maybe 2.97 is my limit and this is with all geil value ram pc3200 and ultra x-connect. while this new dfi i have is 2.95 with all extra crap i bought oh well... time to resell parts....
