Hiroshirou Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 and of course im using nforce 4 ultra d dfi but theres only one connector for hd light activity on the mobo.... is there anyway i can put onelight for one of the drives and another seperate light for the other drive? (both of my drives are seagate barracuda sata) i wonder what the 4 pins on the sata is for but then again the hd light is only 2 pins. Guest SuppA-SnipA Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 each led is 2 pins ok so you solder, connect one side of the leds leg, to pin 39 on an ide cable, and the other side to a +5 volt line using a 100 ohm resistor same instructions i used on my xbox as to which sides to connect, well i always forget, so look up some tutorials, since this is a pc, i dont recommend this, but if your willing to try first on perhaps an older pc, go ahead good luck Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The mobo's HD activity output is for the entire hd controller...PATA, SATA and ATAPI. Some PCI controllers have LED output for each drive.
