Still no fix for 4 LEDs...

Recommended Posts

Alrite so my system is:

dfi ultra-d

3000+ venice

1gig ocz ram

74gb raptor

seasonic s12 500w

evga 6600gt

creative x-fi

I posted a couple weeks ago with this problem. As soon as I booted up, it would turn itself off in a second. Today, I found out that my 160gb seagate sata drive was a dud. But I still have 4 leds when I boot up and no video. I thought it was my seasonic, so I bought another one just to make sure. Plugged it all in and still 4 leds. I also got a x2 3800+ comin in on the 8th so Imma try that as well. Ive done the 24 hour cmos clear and checked all my connections. I dunno what else there is to do. Your help would be appreciated.

You have connected all FOUR power connectors correct? 4 LED's indicates processor failure to initialize which is usually set by not connecting the required power connector. I hope you figure out the issue before the RMA process unless you are one of the unlucky ones with a bad board to start with......

my second power supply was a ocz 520 powerstream. I have the mobo out on a piece of card board on minimum install. I have replaced everything even the cpu and still no go. I cleared cmos overnight and connected all 4 connectors in. I am quite sure its the board.

Oh yeah, can i still rma it even though i removed the stock chipset fan and replaced it with a zalman passive hs?

I don't think replacing the stock chipset fan will void warranty, but i hope you put the stock one back on so you can use your Zalman when the new board comes in, if you can still find it or if it's operational.

Note:Also another thing to look at is the power conversions on the back of the PSU, 230/115v settings. I know it would be pretty ODD if both PSU's were set to the 230v, but check anyway. If you do have a buddy that lives close by with a AMD 939 board, try out your components on his as well, just to be on the safe side.
