BlizZardo Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Hello I bought my new system not so long ago and everything works fine except one thing. the cpu fan-connector is not working it seems, I can connect the cpu fan to another connector but that don't feel right because it should work right? Maybe a bios update could fix the problem but wont I loose warranty? Hope someone knows the answer, have a nice day/night

rebelangel Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 RMA the board is the only thing I can say
black_dought Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 you know, Im not for 100% sure, however I have been told by others numerous times not to plug your Fans into the board because it causes stability issues. I've seen plenty of threads on this. Try searching before you RMA something that may not be broken. BTW if I find anything on this I will post a link. Hope this helps
Angry_Games Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 if the fan header will not power up a cpu fan at boot, then it is likely a dead fan header. Please RMA the board.
rebelangel Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 the cpu fan connector should just work the stability issue is for better overclocks because you're drawing power from the mobo. a fan header especially the cpu fan header should just work regardless of anything edit: angry beat me to it

TJAW Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Im not sure on the "D" model, but do you have all 4 motherboard points connected to the power supply? A board I recently tested had no problem powering 3.4w cpu fan from a header.
