Confined Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Are they necessary? I know that your registry gets 'bloated' after a while but does it really matter? I've searched and I can't find any free ones, only those 'free-trial limited scan' ones... So does anyone know of any free ones or should I just not bother? madian225 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Hi I have tried a few and the only one that seems to work the best for me is Clean My Pc Registrt Cleaner. I tend to use it after a fresh install and then a few times during the updating and then every other week after that to keeps things in check. Cooler Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Only tool I'm regularly using, is PageDefrag from http://www.sysinternals.com/ It does not "clean" Registry, but defrags it. I'm not very much into Registry "cleaners", as they tend to remove too much information which need to get restored afterwards. If your reg cleaning program doesn’t allow for this, it’s easy to do manually.
