rs shook on3 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I am running a A64 venice core 3200+. i followed the overclocking guide posted a while ago by angry games. When i raise the HTT/FSB to over 215mhz, windows will not boot. The startup screen never comes on and my rig just resets over and over till I enter bios and lower the speed. All of my settings are correct i believe. I've tried raising and lowering the voltages. Am I doing something wrong or is this chip just a bad overclocker? EdLSmith Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Some will only give you a couple of hundred MHz, but they will give you some. You just got to work with it. Might take a few weeks but it feels good when you can say I did it. Start over at the begining and do it again. You can do it. madu Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Is your memory on a divider..? Whats your LDT multi at..?
rs shook on3 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 how do i check if my memory is on a divider? and my LDT is at 3.
madu Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Genio Bios->DRAM Configurations.. The first option is the Mem divider.. CHeck what it is at.. maybe if your memory is at 1:1 and it cant go over 215 maybe that could be one giving you the problem.. After checking that, you might just wanna try LDT multi at x4.. Just give it a try if that doesnt work..
rs shook on3 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 how high should i raise the mem dividers? Windows boots with a higher FSB clock now. I am running OCCT stress test to check stability
madu Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 if you have no issue, keep the divider at 1:1.i think its should be as 200(1/01).or something like that.. But if you r in the process of ocing the cpu, you should put the divider to the lowest 100(1/02) to make sure that memory doesnt become a factor.. rs shook on3 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Alright, from your experiences did your cpu oc better with a voltage closer to 1.6-1.65 or lower? I just set my mem to 133 but ill probably switch it back so i can really get the top range for my cpu.
blobby750© Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I got my CPU to 2700mhz@[email protected] with a little patience.Just follow the guide
rs shook on3 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 When I raised the mem divider to 133, it booted fine, but after completing OCCT, i went back to BIOS and switched it back to 100(1/02). Now it fails to boot once again. I just raised the mem divider to 120 and now it boots with FSB speed 240....should i be keeping the mem divider at the lowest possible setting because it seems to be limiting my cpu
