Burky Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 So I just got my 2x1024 PC4000 G.Skill today and the difference from the Corsair in my rig is phenominal. Before, I couldn't get 2.6ghz stable @1.58v, now I'm 2.7ghz stable at that voltage, and my Aquamark 3d score was 4000 higher than at the settings in my sig (78644 now!). I haven't found the limit on the ram speed yet, as I'm running at 1/2 divider till I max out my cpu, but I'm having fun right now. Good stuff. -=Viper=- Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 hi my score is over 90000 Points in Aquamark. I have "just" an ATi x800XT @ PE
THunDA Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 hi my score is over 90000 Points in Aquamark. I have "just" an ATi x800XT @ PE -=Viper=-..If you read this real good you'll see why he isnt scoring as much as he probably could.. I haven't found the limit on the ram speed yet, as I'm running at 1/2 divider till I max out my cpu, but I'm having fun right now. Good Job Burky !! Quality ram makes a would of difference ..
Burky Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 It certainly does: 2.6ghz and 260mhz ram gives 85,579 aquamarks, which is an amazing difference; the change in ram caused and increase of nearly 10,000! I'm still finding the limit on my ram. Any ideas how to get there, or have I just reached the limit on my chip. I was running a 1/2 divider too. I'm going to play around with some faster ones and see if that helps.

Hmm, how does changing your ram make your CPU run higher? Was it on a divider before?
Burky Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 It was running at 200mhz @ 2.5-3-3-8before, and I only had the 1.5gigs of cheap value ram. When I tried to run it at 208mhz, it corrupted my hdd which was a real pain, and so I mae the switch. But even when I was running the gskill at 135mhz, I scored 4000 more on aquamark so obviously quality does count, although my timings were 2-3-3-5 there. Although my timings now are 3-4-4-8 (which I will tighten a little later) a 10k gain is substantial and I haven't finished yet either.
