Ive already RMA'd the ballistix in my sig and am temp. using a Mushkin 2x1gb XP4000 kit. Ive been having stability problems in windows. For instance the borders and everything change when you have your system set to "best performance" but even though those are the settings the system will have it in the XP theme even though its setup not to. Also, more importanlty, I have my settings in the bios set to auto with NOTHING overclocked. In DRAM config the only thing I changed was the dram freq to 250. So I enabled memtest and restarted, boot screen says DDR500 and the timings that are stock. Once into memtest it shows the ram at like 130mhz (ddr260) with timings from the factory correct. Now, the Crucial tech support guy went ahead and had me mail the modules in. Well, my mushkin does it too..... Any suggestions? Also, not sure if this is related or just a string of bad luck.. My VGA wont keep its clock settings anymore when I see the speeds in coolbits. It also reads as vga core speed of 8.9mhz in 3dmark05... Even when uninstalled and changed drivers I was getting what looked like artifacts in memtest?? Yet I play quake4 and there arent any...

Your problem probably stems from the fact that you are trying to run your ram at 250mhz when the rest of your system is set to run at 200 (if everything is on auto). I don't know how you are managing the 250 setting but turn the dram setting back to auto (200 1:1).

tried that too, as well as auto, as well as fsb set @ 250.
